Send Email

According to an article in Light Reading, Verizon Wireless is being sued for patent infringement by Speedus Corp., regarding two of the latters patents dealing with television service transmission over cellular networks. Speedus Corp. is still deciding whether or not to file a suit against any other carriers.

The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court in the Southern District of Florida by Speedus, who alleges its U.S. Patents 5,949,793 and 4,747,160 are being infringed upon by Verizon. The first patent is titled “Transmission of Digital and Analog Signals in the Same Band,” and the second is “Low Power Multi-Function Cellular Television System,” which covers particular methods that tv signals are delivered by cellular systems.
